An empty nightclub without the dancing coloured lights, doesn't sound like the best venue for photography does it? Well I had the pleasure of attending one of Mark Walker's workshops in the Eclipse in Bodmin (Thanks Roger for use of venue) and with his lighting expertise we got some classy, dramatic shots.
I've never shot specifically for black and white, quite a few of my colour shots will convert to monochrome well because I love high contrast images which is key to black and white but this is a whole new ball game.
So I put up a black backdrop and turned my camera to mono for the first time ever and lights, camera, action!
Hollywood lighting may have eluded me. Pretty sure I'm holding the light in totally the wrong place. However something cinematic is happening in my living room.

It's a wrap. Reviews are in, and another foray into black and white is certainly called for. This was a one-light set up so I'd be happy to bring one or two more to the party.
And now for your viewing pleasure...
